The show consists of selected works, which were chosen by the district's art teachers, and is broken down by school and grade. The show takes place annually in March as part of Youth Art Month, which is celebrated across the United States. The program provides a medium for recognizing skills developed through visual arts experiences including problem-solving, creativity, observation, and communication.
Viewers are encouraged to view their child's art as well as the art from all of our elementary students. Students are taught lessons in accordance with the 2020 Student Learning Standards in the Visual and Performing Arts and the 7 Elements and Principles of Design. The elements of design are the fundamental aspects of any visual design which include shape, color, space, form, line, value, and texture.
